Timothy E. Goundrey M.D.



Dr. Goundrey is a lifelong resident of central Connecticut. He left Connecticut to attend Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then returned to Connecticut and graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

He went on to train in surgery through the University’s Integrated Residency in General Surgery. While in training, he won multiple awards including the Administrative Chief Resident’s Award, the Andrew Canzonetti Award for Outstanding Surgical Resident and two Surgical House Staff Teaching Awards.

Dr. Goundrey is board certified in general surgery and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He maintains privileges at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Goundrey’s main clinical interest is minimally invasive surgery, including gastrointestinal surgery, herniorrhaphy and biliary tract disease. He has presented nationally in advanced laparoscopy.

He lives in the Greater Hartford Area with his wife and children.
